Dear Resident

 

We know excessive housebuilding, and the impact it has on local infrastructure and public services, remains the number one concern of local people. Since 2021, we have voted against, called into Planning Committee, and opposed every planning application in the Hermitage Lane area, and we will continue to do all we can to fight overdevelopment.

Nevertheless, the development that has already been approved has made available almost £18,000 of funding to spend on infrastructure improvements across Palace Wood Ward. This money has been collected by Maidstone Borough Council from developers through the Community Infrastructure Levy.

This funding can be spent on projects such as new play equipment, additional street furniture including benches and road signs, improvements to community halls, new CCTV, highways adaptations such as pedestrian crossings, enhancements to parks and open spaces, projects for  local schools, and support for local clubs and organisations such as the Scouts.

It is our job to represent you and deliver on your priorities. To do that, we need to understand your views on the local issues that matter most to you and how you believe this funding can best be spent to improve our community.
